FREE FARM MAPS are now available to the first 175 eligible* irrigators.

SunRISE 21 Inc. has been successful in receiving funds under the Farm Decision Support Grant program to prepare farm maps that support irrigators in decision making. The program is funded through the Victorian Government’s 2009 drought assistance package.

Farmers Eligible for Drought Exit Grants

Victorian irrigators can now apply for the Rudd Government’s Small Block Irrigators Exit Grant Package, the Federal Minister for Climate Change, Senator Penny Wong, and the Victorian Water Minister, Tim Holding, announced today.
 
The Small Block Irrigators Exit Grant Package offers up to $150,000 to eligible irrigators in the Murray-Darling Basin on farms of 15 hectares or less, plus up to $20,000 in other transitional assistance. Irrigators must sell their water entitlement to the Commonwealth to be eligible for the exit grant.

Mildura Derailed - Rail Freight Impact Study

Rail transport is a critical element in the functioning and sustainability of the Mildura Region. The location of Mildura close to a tri-state boundary and the very high level of industrial and food-related production means that gauge standardisation and connectivity to the Interstate Rail Network must be given the highest priority.
